- Follow through. Make sure you have a way to follow through with your command, whether that be a leash or an e-collar. This will prevent the dog from being able to ignore your command and get away with it.
- Don’t overuse it. Don’t use your dog’s formal recall command all the time, especially if you’re not prepared to follow through and reward.
