Meet the Trainer

Certified Public Master Trainer by the American Society of Canine Trainers

Annie’s passion for animals began from a very young age. It was Annie's kindergarten teacher that asked her mom, "When are you going to get this girl a dog? She is always talking, reading and writing about dogs." It was the next year that Annie's first dog, Lucy, came to the family as a career change guide dog from Canine Companions for Independence. Though she came knowing basic commands, Annie spent all her free time teaching Lucy anything she could think of, from army crawling to praying before her meals. Lucy lived a good long life, passing after her 16th birthday during Annie’s senior year in college.

Annie chose Carroll College for its unique program in Anthrozoology. There Annie would continue to follow her passion. Carroll's program offers a course in which students foster a shelter dog for a year, rehabilitating them and preparing them for adoption. Throughout their year together, Sandy mastered obedience, tracking, scent work, and service tasks. Sandy is currently living happily in her forever home. Following this experience, came an opportunity for Annie to train another dog.

Annie was chosen as one of four students to be in Specialized K9 Training class to raise and train a dog for a job. The summer before her senior year, Annie began training Bowen at nine weeks old. She spent her senior year training this German Shepherd for police work, specifically drug detection, tracking, and apprehension. Her work with Bo continues.

Annie graduated from Carroll College in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthrozoology, the study of the human animal bond. Carroll is located in Helena, Montana and is currently the only school in the country that offers Anthrozoology as an undergraduate degree.

Annie moved back home to Seattle to start her career as a dog trainer. After two years of successfully running her dog training business in Seattle, Annie relocated to Boise, Idaho with family and has quickly grown to love the Treasure Valley.
