Not All Dogs are the Same

There is not a universal way of training dogs. All dogs are unique and come from different backgrounds. Therefore no type of training is going to be successful for all dogs. At the end of the day, you need your dog’s trust, respect and loyalty to be successful.

Learning Theory

Operant conditioning is a learning theory in which consequences are paired/associated with behaviors. There are four quadrants to operant conditioning: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment. I believe that each of these quadrants play an important role in creating a well-behaved dog.

Learning the Right From Wrong

Annie's training philosophy is focused on positive reinforcement and discipline: rewarding correct behavior and correcting wrong behavior. Dogs need direction in order to know what behaviors they should and shouldn’t repeat.

Let's Start With You

Annie's approach to training pets is to first educate the family so that each member understands their role in raising a reliable and well mannered dog. In order for any dog to be trained successfully, owners must understand dog behavior: what their dog is doing and why. Many dog owners struggle to understand their dog’s problem behaviors and how to overcome them. I believe that every dog has the ability to be trained and rehabilitated.
